Catching Up!!!

There is always too much to do and of course not enough time to do it all.. So, some things have to be put aside to complete others..

I was at the Orange County Fair July to August doing gumpaste flower demos which is always such great fun. I get to see everyone who is part of the fair I haven't seen from the previous year and meet many new people who stop by to learn about gumpaste flowers and see how they are made.

After the fair I had to get caught up with so many things and now I making some time for my blog. I am excited to share upcoming classes and the locations I am teaching at here in Orange County. I will also be doing a demo and teaching a class in LA in the near future, more info to follow soon.

First I want to share with everyone the locations I teach at or will be teaching at:

Here in Huntington Beach a wonderful hidden treasure for craft classes in an awesome shop called "The Art Lounge", you have to visit their shop and check out their site. I will be teaching my first class there Sept 20th and 21st. More about The Art Lounge classes I will be offering later.

I will be offering classes once again in Orange at the "Dragonfly Shops and Gardens"

In the near future I will be doing a demo at "Bodega Bakery" in Pico Rivera and will be teaching a class as well.

I am still teaching at "ABC Cakes" in Orange too.

Thanks for following along on my blog.. Have a fantastic day!!!

Gumpaste Daddofil Tutorial

Friday, January 3, 2014

It is already the 3rd day of January and I have so much to do and to catch up on...

I thought I would start with the end of the year and share what I did last. I was honored to be a guest contributor to Bird's Party Blog (Unique Party Ideas and Printable Fun). When I first started my blog several years ago I found her page and have been following her since. I get lots of ideas about photographing my sugar flowers and in brief she has one fantastic blog!!!!

Here is the link to the Mistletoe tutorial I did which is also on her pinterest. I made a simple and quick tutorial for those who don't decorate or make sugar flowers which I believe is doable. Most of the supplies can be purchased at Micheal's Craft store too...

Hope you enjoy the tutorial and although Christmas and New Years have passed you can keep it and make them for next year. Just click on the link below...

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

Well, it seems 2014 just sprung up on me.. Not really but it feels like it has. I have been quite busy this past year with the sugar flowers and have neglected posting to my blog. Time is hard to manage at times and although I have a list of to do's I don't always get them as much as I try.

I started teaching as a regular at ABC Cakes in Orange CA.. I have just finished my first tutorial I will have for sale, plus a few other tutorials that have been published in magazines and on a blog..

The biggest news for me is I am teaching my first class at the Texas Cake show in February of this year..I can't wait to attend and meet many of the people I have only had the opportunity to talk to online.

This is just in brief what I have been up to and will post and share in more detail... this is a brand new year with brand new adventures and a chance to become a better blogger too...

Happy New Year

Why am I so excited you ask???    The photo Tutorial of the Cymbidium Orchid I did will be available in the next four weeks on the SugarEd Productions Sugar Art School website.

It was a great experience to make these photo tutorials. I figured out a system, I guess you can say of writing and photo taking. I found out during this process how many steps there really are to make a sugar flower. I never really gave it much thought until I had to photograph each step of the way...
